Palak Paneer



Here is a recipe for veggie lovers.This a creamy dish with the pretty dark green colour of palak and chewy paneer floating in the gravy.This is a recipe from north India.The mear view of this itself is mouthwaterning.Easy to prepare and a healthy dish.

Ingredients:

Spinach - 1 bunch
Onion - 1 large
Green chilies -2 -3
Garlic - 2-3 cloves
Cumin - 1 tsp
Chilly powder -1 tbsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Paneer - 1/2 cup diced
Ghee - 2tsp
Salt
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Tomato puree - 2 tsp

Method:

1.Wash,clean and chop the spinach and cook with little water.Season with turmeric,salt and chilly powder.
2.Add onions chopped roughly,garlic,green chillies.Close with a lid and cook for 10 mins.
3. Allow it to cool then,blend it into a coarse paste and keep aside.
4.Now take little ghee in a pan add cumin and wait till it splutters .
5.Then add the paste to it and cook till the raw smell of spinach and garlic vanishes.
6.Then add garam masala ,salt and sugar to it .Saute and then add tomato puree.
7.Now take remaining ghee in a seperate pan and roast the paneer cubes till they turn slightly golden brown at the edges.
8.Then add the paneer into thegravy and give fine toss.
Serve with hot parata's or kulcha's.

I make it in the other way.Tried this way too... its good too.
