Asparagus Soup

Asparagus is my altime favorite vegetable .It just make anything extra tasty i feel. I'm a soup lover. Just love any kind of soup so keep preparing soups of differnt varities.Well this one I saw in a book and found intersting and just dont even ask me how simple is it to prepare too I never even thought the waste edges which are very fibrous will add up to give such a wonderful flavour... Well to give a shot, experience the heavenly taste of this soup by your self and be contented just like me.

Ingredients:-
-----------
Asparagus ends - 1 cup
Red Onion - 1 large
Vegetable broth cube -1 dice[OXO Company]
Water - 2.5 cup
Olive oil - 2 tsp
Milk - 1 cup [or halk cup cream]
Salt and pepper -for seasoning[1 tsp]

Method:-
-------
1.Take a heavy bottom pan , add oil and then saute the onions till the turn slightly golden then add the asparagus and saute for 2 mins.
2.Add the vegetable broth 2.5 cups .I have added one cube with water abd bring to a boil , season with salt and pepperand then cover and cook till the asparagus become tender.
3.Allow it to cool down and then blend it into a smooth paste .Strain it thro' seive if desired .
4.Then add the milk and heat it a bit so that it just begins to boil.Remove from the stove and serve hot with a roasted bun or bread in the side.Enjoy.....
5.This asparagus can be substituted to mushrooms too.You can use the chewy stems of the portabella mushrooms or even dried mushrooms too...
