Jat-Pat Chakkuli
This is a simplest recipe which anyone can prepare. Some times we all feel lazy to prepare but wanna have some nice snack to munch . So this was one day for me so thought of trying this instant chakkuli what i call it.Its a recipe with minimal ingredients but taste is simply superb.It will last for atleast 2-3 weekd when stored in an airtight container.
Ingredients:-

Rice flour - 1 cup
Besan - 1/2 cup
Butter - 1 tbsp
Salt - as per taste
Cumin - 1 tsp
Black til - 1/2 tsp
Oil - for deep fry
Method:-

1.Take all the dry ingredients in a bowl.Melt Then butter and add it to the dry ingredients.
2.Add salt ,cumin and til.
3.Add little water and mix into a soft dough almost like chapathi dought.It should not stick to your hands.
4.In a small pan heat up the oil.
5.in a greased sheet using icing syringe press some chakkuli's in circular fashion like jelebi's and keep ready.
6.Fry them till golden brown on both sides In medium heat.
7.Remove from oil and place them over paper towel to drain off execess oil.
8.Store in an air tight container.
9.You can also add finely chopped onions and curry leaves and then press the chakkuli's.the just taste awesome.

using icing syringe nice idea for ahndy one. Looks like you are frying now days. Rice flour and besan good combination.
jat-pat??? true indeed... looks quite crispy and soft at the same time... and i love that plate too;)
we call it cakkli, loveli looking and really jat-pat. I make a different version. with besan.

i have never made chakli before, but this one looks real simple. i wonder if there is a substitute for a chakli press, 'cos i don't have one.

Hey soumya,those look so nice!I make a similar recipe too,except that I use urad flour instead of besan..:)Nice snack with a cup of coffee,or tes..also nice for a mid morning snack..
